Rule VII: Group 7, strong verbs with pattern "[v]-ie-[v]"

| | Application: | - | the verb's verb primitive ends on a vocal "[v]" and is followed by one consonant (or two, identical consonants). |
| | | - | the vocal is replaced by "ie" in the OVT (Past), e.g. "vallen" => wij vielen", not "wij valden". The Voltooid Deelwoord's (Past Participle) original vocal remains unchanged, e.g. "gevallen". |
| | | - | Verbs, where the Voltooid Deelwoord's (Past Participle) vocal shall be built with a different vocal, are built according to the rules of other strong verbs, e.g. "werpen, wierp, geworpen". |
