Verbtime differentiates between three verb groups.
These are the verbs ending on "ARE", verbs ending on "ERE" as well as verbs that end on "IRE". With "IRE"-verbs Verbtime differentiates between IRE-verbs that are built like the verb "capire" and all other IRE-verbs. Verbs that are built like "capire", are shown as "IRE2" or "ire (isc)". Verbtime stores IRE2-verbs in a list that can be extended by you, if needed (also see: Appendix, IRE2-verbs).
Italian verbs are conjugated using auxiliary verbs "avere" and "essere".
Most Italian verbs are built using auxiliary verb "avere". Verbtime stores verbs that use auxiliary verb "essere" in a list that can be extended by you, if needed (also see: Appendix, essere-verbs).
Note that essere-conjugated verbs change their Participio Passato in the composed times depending on singular / plural and male / female form. The following list provides an overview (also see essere-conjugated verbs, like e.g. andare):
Singular male: | [essere] + Participio Passato (verb) + o | (e.g. sono andato)
Plural male: | [essere] + Participio Passato (verb) + i | (e.g. siamo andati)
Singular female: | [essere] + Participio Passato (verb) + a | (e.g. sono andata)
Plural female: | [essere] + Participio Passato (verb) + e | (e.g. siamo andate) |
